Here at last by popular demand… the sophisticated macaron and the versatile meringue kiss are perfect for adorning drip cakes and work equally well on their own as dessert table treats or wedding favours. This is also a totally gluten free cake course for intolerance sufferers. 

We think we’ve perfected our technique and if you’ve tried making these before you’ll know you have to get them just right.. we will show you the art to creating beautiful macarons in an array of exciting flavours using equipment that is accessible to you at home. On the course you will produce 12 of your own macaroons and 12 meringue kisses all boxed up to take home.

We will experiment with different colours and flavours on the class, as well as create a variety of fillings – some of our favourite past combos include coconut & chocolate, rhubarb and custard, lemon and white chocolate ganache, and the French favourite raspberry, rose & lychee – inspired by the king of macarons himself, Pierre Hermé, and his famous Ispahan. TGCC founder Eloïse once travelled to Paris especially to try one of these!

Everything you need is provided for the day including equipment, tools, ingredients, cake boxes and even a special bag to take your cakes home in. Just bring yourself and your love of cakes.

This course is held at our professional bakery and cake decorating shop in Chelmsford in Essex. Car parking is available very nearby if you are driving, otherwise Chelmsford is just a 30 minute train ride from London Liverpool Street station if you decide to travel by train, and our shop is just a few minutes walk from the station.

GLUTEN FREE course
If you are wheat / gluten intolerant this is the perfect class for you as both meringues and macarons are completely gluten free. Please note however we are a working bakery and whilst we do not use them on this particular class, ingredients containing gluten are used regularly at the shop on the same equipment. Please use your judgement if you have an extreme sensitivity. This course is NOT suitable for nut allergy sufferers as almonds are used.
