**Under the non-essential retail category, our shop is closed for business but we look forward to seeing you again soon! Check back here for reopening updates.**

Reopening Measures
Safeguarding our customers and employees remains of the utmost priority and we are pleased to have new measures in place for reopening to ensure this and prevent the spread of COVID -19. Like everyone, we are adapting constantly to new government information so please do continue to check this page for updates.

Socially Distanced Cake Classes
Our new teaching layout with separate allocated tables means we will be operating a reduced capacity on reopening and therefore we recommend reserving future places asap. Unlike many course providers who operate from their homes or confined spaces, our shop and bakery is set over 800 square feet and will allow you space and peace of mind. We are excited to show you our newly refurbished and redecorated shop!

  • Attendees will have their own workspace to enable social distancing
  • Extra cleaning routines for high contact areas such as taps and tools
  • New increased toilet facilities
  • New smaller class capacity limits (please be aware this means future dates will fill up quicker so early booking is recommended)
  • Single use, recyclable cups and stirrers for refreshments
  • Personal individual sanitisers provided for your use on classes
  • Extra communal sanitisation stations around the bakery
  • Format modifications to avoid crowding at points during classes
  • Disposable hand towels to replace fabric ones
  • Provision of complimentary food safe gloves (optional)
  • Free rescheduling of all course dates when you let us know by 8am on the morning of your booked class (please email in this case)
  • No time limit for rescheduling you class & expiry dates on ALL gift vouchers now removed. Feel free to book anytime in the future.

Rescheduling Cake Classes
We will remove all time restrictions if you need to reschedule a cake class and all course places booked will be valid for reschedules indefinitely with no expiry date. We have put a lot of effort and consideration into implementing new measures and believe that these can assure you of peace of mind and safety when attending a cake class in the future.

New Future Class Bookings
If you book a class and later need to reschedule it owing to reasons related to COVID-19, we will continue to waive the usual course moving fees. This applies to all new course bookings and bookings made from all previously rescheduled cake classes. You must email us on info@gourmetcupcakes.co.uk by 8am on the morning of your class to reschedule (we will be operating a waiting list for all classes owing to the new limited capacity). To reschedule, you can either choose a date from the website, or request a gift voucher to redeem further into the future. We are removing all expiry dates from gift vouchers so you can rebook any time in the future. Gift vouchers may also be transferred to another person if you no longer wish to attend.

Previously Cancelled Class Bookings
For those of you that were due to come on a cake class that has been cancelled, you can either rebook a future date or convert your class to a gift voucher for redemption in the future – with no expiry date or time restrictions on either option. Please email us at info@gourmetcupcakes.co.uk to arrange. You may choose to attend a different class of the same value, or pay the difference to attend a more expensive course if you wish.

Cake Orders
We are fortunate enough to have a very large workshop so our small team will be able to safely fulfil future cake orders whilst practicing any necessary social distancing for your collection and delivery, should guidelines at the time dictate. We understand that those of you with existing bookings may need to postpone larger events so just let us know the new date when you have it and all deposits or payments made will be carried forward for you. Do bear in mind that owing to the postponement of so many events it does mean that future dates especially for 2021 are in more demand than usual so we recommend early booking!

We are pulling out all the stops when it comes to prioritising food safety. The WHO has stated that there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be transmitted through food however we will continue to maintain our already high standard of hygiene practices. All high contact areas of our shop and kitchens will be sanitised at regular intervals along with tools and equipment. We already pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards of food safety practices holding a 5 out of 5 rating with the government Food Standards Agency.

Gift Vouchers
All new and existing gift vouchers will now have no expiry date. If you have a gift voucher from a previously cancelled cake class you may now book anytime in the future, or give your gift voucher to somebody else to attend the class instead.

…..Thank you for your patience as we navigate the changing guidelines and prioritise your wellbeing. We really appreciate all your understanding and flexibility without which many small businesses, including ours, would simply not be able to survive. Your continued support, kindness and positivity in this unprecedented situation means a lot.
