Firstly, we would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and flexibility when it comes to rescheduling your orders and classes. Without this, many small businesses including ours would simply not be able to survive. We really appreciate your continued support, and the kindness and positivity of those of you who have been in touch so far to work out solutions in this unprecedented situation. It means a lot.

Safeguarding our customers and employees remains of the utmost priority and we have the following measures in place to ensure this and prevent the spread of COVID -19.

Retail Shop

The retail shop will be closed for the time being so that we can better control our environment and adhere to social distancing regulations for both customers and staff. We therefore ask that you do not call the shop or leave a message on the answering machine as it may be a while before we pick it up. Please send us an email instead at

Cake Orders

We understand that you will need to amend the dates of your celebrations and therefore your cake orders. We will accommodate all changes free of charge, and all deposits and payments already made will be carried forward to your new date. Please let us know your new order date and any additional details via email to at least 7 days in advance so we can rebook you.

When we reopen, we have a very large workshop and a very small staff, predominantly working alone. We would therefore still able to fulfil some orders whilst practicing any necessary social distancing at that time. Collections will therefore be left for you on the table in the front of the shop rather than being handed directly to you. Thank you in advance for your understanding on this. We will still be pulling out all the stops when it comes to prioritising food safety. The NHS has stated that it is very unlikely that COVID-19 can be spread through food, however we will still maintain the utmost of hygiene practices; all high contact areas of our shop and kitchens will be sanitized regularly along with tools and equipment, and we already pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards of food safety practices holding a 5 out of 5 rating with the government Food Standards Agency.

Cake Classes

Owing to government guidelines with regard to social distancing, we need to let you know some changes we will need to make in our shop with regard to cake classes. We want to reassure all our customers that your safety is a priority, and our aim is to work with you to find a solution that works for everyone. 


For those of you that were due to come on a cake class, we will convert the value of your class to a voucher which can be redeemed against another class when we are all allowed back out and about again! We are unable to offer refunds on classes, but are being flexible with requests for any changes to the class type and also extended expiries for individual circumstances.

You will be given 6 months to attend another class, and this will only start from the date that the social distancing guidelines are lifted. No moving fees will be charged to you in this instance. If you received a loyalty discount for a class, you will retain this discount and will still be able to book the same class or indeed a different class of equal value. If you decide you want to do a different class that costs more, you can pay the difference and we will also apply your loyalty discount to that price difference too. For those of you that want to move a class you booked using a gift voucher, we will provide you with a new one as per the above with a new 6 month grace period. You may give this voucher to anyone to attend, it does not have to be used by you.

If you feel you need a longer period of time to attend a future class, for example if you have pre-existing health conditions which require you to stay at home for longer, please get in touch and let us know.

Attending your existing class under social distancing

This is currently no longer an option that we can offer, and under the latest guidelines from the government it would be unlawful for us to do so, however we will update this section again if the situation changes.

New class bookings – worried?

As our class places are limited, some of you are getting in touch to say you want to reserve a place on a future class but are hesitant to do so in case government guidelines do not change, or you cannot attend for similar reasons related to the coronavirus situation. To give you peace of mind, we are therefore accommodating any future changes you need to make to any class booked from 1st April 2020 without any fees charged, as long as we receive notice of 48 hours or more prior to the class date that you will not be attending.
